In an unprecedented and heartwarming collaboration, Climate Actions Now (CAN) Music has joined forces with Giles et Diego, renowned artists in the organic house music scene, to launch a ground-breaking music initiative – the "Dance Be Happy" project.
This unique endeavor aims to leverage the transformative power of music to bring about positive change. The project is inspired by and dedicated to the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the rainforests of Uganda. This marginalized group's resilience and indomitable spirit serve as the heartbeat of the initiative.
At the core of the "Dance Be Happy" project is the sensational Afro Tech track,
"Emyaambi yorutare yagwiire", or "The Arrow of the Rock Has Landed". This song encapsulates the resilience, victory, and unity of the Batwa community, giving voice to their vibrant culture and echoing their powerful narrative of endurance. The track forms part of the upcoming EP, "Resilience and Unity", a testament to the strength and solidarity of this remarkable community.
With their distinctive sound, Giles et Diego have ensured that the "Dance Be Happy" project resonates in the realm of organic house music. The EP is poised for release on
June 21, 2023, a date we eagerly anticipate.
The proceeds from the "Dance Be Happy" project will directly support the Batwa community, contributing towards education, healthcare, clean water, sanitation, and income-generating activities. This initiative underscores the commitment of CAN Music to use the power of music for social change, and Giles et Diego’s dedication to producing music that transcends boundaries and touches lives.
The "Dance Be Happy" project is not just about creating captivating music; it's about weaving together notes of hope, beats of resilience, and melodies of unity. It's a beacon of solidarity, reaching out to the Batwa community and beyond.
